One of the locations =Alex37 and I where most excited about shooting was Elgol, subject to so many amazing photographs, most famously Joe Cornish's simply named 'Elgol'

With its incredible sculpted foreshore and colourful rock formations tied together with an irresistible backdrop of the Cuillin Hills its no wonder many of the worlds best visit here. Unfortunately due to its location and unpredictable weather, Elgol proved it wasn't going to show its full colours to us. Luckily there where a few breaks in the cloud giving a soft warm evening light to the landscape.

Location

Elgol, Isle of Skye, Scotland

Great composition Guy, depth of field here is very good, showing the Cuillins very clearly. I was here last year in October, and unfortunately didn't get any good conditions at all for shooting this iconic location.

Wow, crazy rocks. I totally thought it was lava, then I went, "Wait, Scotland and lava? Huh?" Absolutely amazing.

It probably is volcanic rock, weathered for many millions of years

Most likely. Scotland = island. Island = made from volcano. Therefore volcanic rock + Scotland = perfect sense. Looks totally awesome. I'm such a rock dork. XD
