The bluebells have appeared extremely early this year and with a vengeance, I have never seen so many. It's not usual for me to venture into the woods in direct sunlight as the light makes shooting limiting and unfavoured. However due to the weather overcast days have become a rarity so on this occasion I decided to see what I could create. I have visited this patch of woodland on many occasions but I still had to spend time searching for the right composition that would give structure to the image as well as keeping the subjects as the focus of the photo.
I hope to return this week and a few other spots as the weather is changing.
I know these woods pretty well because where I work backs onto them. You're right that the bluebells haven't been as dense this year as previous, nevertheless there are better locations in the woods that I know you would do justice to.
It's a great wood when you know where to go, please tell me you don't work at Wrigley's, it's a surreal experience walking through the woodland with the strong smell of spearmint...
If you think that's bad, try walking through it when they're doing Airwaves! Thankfully I work on Forresters Business Park, the opposite end, so it's not as pungent. How is it you know these woods so well Guy?
