The Autumn this year was somewhat of a let down, the poor unseasoned weather throughout the year was too much for our trees and the bloom of colour never took off. However I was able to head out on a couple of occasions and caught this in mid afternoon along the River Plym at Shaugh Prior.

This was a tricky image to blend and I took much time and techniques trying to accomplish what I wanted, it has certainly raised a few flaws in my current techniques and I'll be looking to improve on them during the dark evenings over winter.

Location

Shaugh Prior, Dartmoor, UK

The Autumn never really took off this year so you didn't miss much at all. I won't go into too much depth with how process this particular image but the majority of my images are processed using a technique called 'exposure blending' its similar to HDR but you have much more control over the end result and he images will look much more natural. I will then adjust my images with contrast and saturation but always in keeping with what I saw at the time of capture.

There are loads of tutorials online with different techniques you can try out and find one that works best for you, that's how I learnt to do the majority of my processing.

Let me know how you get on :)
